Path of Exile Item Upgrades
The performance of a variety of Path of Exile items can be improved by upgrading their performance. They can also provide additional damage, AD or even affixes.
Rare-grade equipment is usually superior to modernized Common or Magic gear due to their higher requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades are a kind of upgrade that can be applied to weapon and armor items. They boost the performance of the item they are attached to. Upgrades to armor are available in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. They can also be salvaged by using a professional or higher salvage kits to retrieve upgrade components from other items.
The level of an armor's or weapon's upgrade determines the amount of damage it will absorb. The absorption of damage by an armor piece will increase when it is upgraded to the highest upgrade level. It is important to keep in mind that this will increase the weight of the armor, therefore it must be more heavy.
There are several kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game and they all have different effects. Some upgrades give armor an extra number of health points while others make it stronger and lighter. The name of the upgrade will tell you the kind of upgrade that an item will receive, as shown below.
Some of the upgrades also require magic or a combination of technology and magic, as shown by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Certain upgrades require charges to use. These are identified as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges associated with these upgrades change daily or never expire depending on the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest option to upgrade your armor. You can locate it by exploring and looting small treasure chests. Titanium is more expensive however, it is available from the smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied on armor pieces of the highest level. These upgrades can provide significant boost in stats, and are definitely worth the cost.

The player should be aware, however, that upgrading a piece to its maximum upgrade level can increase its defense values. However, it can also affect the speed and agility of the piece. It is not recommended to upgrade armor past +9. The boost in defense typically isn't worth the weight and power expenses of the upgrades.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades allow players to improve the effectiveness of certain aspects of a weapon. For example an upgrade can improve the damage that is caused by shotgun shells or the accuracy of a rifle that snipes. Certain firearms have enhancements to enhance their intrinsic characteristics. Frictionless materials (improves stability, and reduces the possibility of overheating) and Kinetic coils (increases the projectile's speed to cause more damage) are two examples.
The majority of upgrades for weapons require a whetblade. It's one of three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by completing Side Quests or by killing a certain amount of bosses and monsters.
The process of upgrading a weapon, equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade fee of a certain number of Bars. The more bars required to complete an upgrade, the higher the level. The cost of upgrading will be lower if you have more than one of the upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade weapon and equipment sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2 Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon and equipment by paying a specific amount of Bars. You could do this until your weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level and at that point, the upgrades would be reset.
You can still do this however, the process is high on RNG and low on agency. Instead, you're better off visiting stores and purchasing equipment that has low upgrade levels but excellent base scores and stat distributions. These will then have a chance at gaining you the best tier of perks and blessings.
To improve item upgrading Cases gg , most players will prioritise upgrading their weapons. Additionally, players should consider upgrading the weapons that are most popular with their teammates to increase their power and effective. Shepard, for example should upgrade his M92F so that he can unlock the Beretta M93R. This will make the weapon more effective when used in conjunction by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are utilized in the armor's sockets and weapons, increasing the power of a character and bringing about secondary effects. Jewelry crafting is a method for making them, where you combine a gemstone with a number specific reagents on a table. The higher the quality of the gemstone, the better the secondary effect. These reagents can be obtained around the world from Treasure Goblins, World Bosses and, sometimes, by salvaging Legendary gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Prisms and gold.
The Jeweler can enhance the quality of a gem in stages ranging from Crude up to Royal. Based on the tier of the gem it can provide different stat boost when slotted into weapons, gear and jewelry.
All tiers of jewels can be crafted at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a sufficient level to obtain the privilege of having them. Jewels can be substituted with another jewel without destroying the original. You can only replace the jewel only once in a piece of equipment.
Utilizing more jewels in a move will make it feel smoother, and is often done for aesthetic reasons. The jewels also improve performance and create a surface harder than steel so that repeated friction from pivots do not damage them.
In addition to the above-mentioned upgrades players can also get glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These glyphs offer a small boost and can be freely traded, but they're not guaranteed to show up as loot. Glyphs are upgradeable, like jewelry, at the Jeweler for gold and a scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be taken out and returned to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits and aegis aren't swappable and can only be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor, or by salvaging them using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are items of equipment that bestow many small but useful advantages to your hero. They are available in the start-up area as rewards for personal stories or loot. They can also be obtained from vendors as well as through the completion of road interactions. They can also be made by jewelers and later found or purchased at the Trading Post.
The first trinket a player will be able to unlock is the cloak. It gives a small, but useful bonus in movement speed and the ability to evade. Then, they can acquire rings, amulets, and necklaces in the same fashion to how the player can acquire armor and weapons. Each piece of gear comes with one upgrade slot that can accommodate either a universal or jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be placed in any type of equipment however, jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and is only compatible with specific types of trinkets.
These trinkets also provide additional buffs and skills that are active whenever the hero is not in combat. This allows a hero to become more efficient even when not in combat. It can also compensate for the absence of good slots in the team or talent tree that are normally filled by a hero's top stats.
A good guideline for trinket upgrades is to prioritize BiS (Best-in-Slot) items that you aren't planning to replace soon, followed by any items with desirable stats that are less important than the iLevel of the item that is being upgraded. This is true especially if you are looking to upgrade multiple statistics on an item. It is more beneficial to upgrade a single important stat instead of two subpar ones.
Jungle players often upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red one at the start of the game. Top and mid players on the other hand, will choose a pink or green ward, based on the game's matchup. These choices can affect a hero's ability to control the map.
Aside from the things mentioned above, players can also discover a variety of other trinkets throughout the game in the form of trophies and awards. They can be earned by completing certain milestones within the story, for instance the main quest of a chapter or destroying a boss. You can view them by clicking on the achievement in the reward section of the hero's menu.
